K-OS - I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman

Such a good jam! It also samples “California” by Phantom Planet who went on indefinite hiatus back in 08. I only got to see Phantom Planet live once back in 2002 when Jason Schwartzman was still the drummer. They opened for Incubus that night, geez that was seven years ago starting to feel old now.

I definitely recommend K-OS if you’re down for some great indie hip-hop. I got a chance to shoot him live back at the 07 Warped Tour.

Tonight we see the beginning of the NHL Playoffs. Pens vs Flyers. The Battle of Pennsylvania. Last year the Pens were inches away from sending Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Game into OT and you know the Red Wings would of gave up after going through hell in Game 5. That was last year though, it’s all just a memory now. DO WORK SON!

Wake up Mr. West

I’ve started several blogs over the past few years in which I let die one by one by just being too lazy and not really caring. This is the part where I say “THIS ONE WILL BE DIFFERENT!” Well hopefully it will be, but I’m not going to be making any promises. I love blogging but I’d rather read someone else’s blog then try and update my own. Which is why my blogs always start strong then slowly end up being deleted. In the words of filmmaker Kevin Smith ” Sometimes I get what I call writers laze, it’s where I don’t write anything because I just want to be entertained by someone else!”

After following some of my favorite photographers blogs for the past few years I’ve come to realize that I really need to get myself into the game, I’ve gotten too comfortable just being on the bench and subbing myself in for a shoot here and there. I’ve been scoring some jobs, but I feel the inspiration that I had so long ago is starting to disappear and I need to do something about that. I need to restart the fire that was once inside of me while I was in school.

Moving to Austin has definitely put me on the right track to refueling that fire, I’ve been having some assistant jobs come through for me, but what I really want to do is get out there and SHOOT. I’m a photographer, if I wasn’t doing this the only other thing I know how to do is run a cold bar at an all you can eat buffet and I’d take this life over that any day. So now it’s time to wake up and get into the game, here’s a photo of Ace Enders from SXSW lot’s more photos to come. Even if I don’t update this with words I can promise you there will be photos.
